Outcomes of CEOM Survey on COVID-19 Pandemic : teleconsultation and protection of healthcare staff

CEOM conducted a survey on national teleconsultation practice and protection of healthcare staff in European countries during the COVID-19 pandemic. The main objective was to elaborate a mapping of best practices that were taken to facilitate doctors’ vital work while protecting their health during COVID-19. The survey was filled-out by 12 countries across Europe: Cyprus; Estonia; Germany; Greece; Italy; Luxembourg; The Netherlands; Portugal; Spain; Sweden; Switzerland; United-Kingdom.

The outcomes of CEOM’s survey showed that there was a massive shift to teleconsultation all over Europe, however, some differences have been pointed out. These differences are particularly shown when it comes to the medical acts that could be conducted via teleconsultation and the technology available.
